A little break from January

Because there are so many of us shivering. Here's a little flower break from the snow, ice, and frost.

By the way, I got that shot of the sun above the roses by holding my camera in the rose bushes. (I didn't crawl down there and lie in the dirt!) I just pointed the camera up and snapped away, moving the camera around before each shot. I love that the sun looks like a big, shiny ball of fire.

Lampshade Light Tent

I just stumbled (literally using StumbleUpon.com) on the coolest article this morning that shows how to make your own lampshade light tent for photographing small articles. You use a $6 IKEA white lampshade. This will allow you to shoot clean photos of small items like rings or memorabilia. What a neat way to get pictures of the small items you want to remember.

I've always wanted to shoot photos like this but professional setups are expensive.
