Where have I been?
LAST WEEK
Last week, I was at the Scrap Girls convention. My meetings started on Tuesday and ended on Saturday night. Because I had so much to do (and because of some unusual things that happened), I only had time for 5 hours of sleep a night. It was hard on me physically, but wonderful in every other way. Everyone was so nice. I truly enjoyed myself.
Unfortunately…. I caught the flu while I was at the event. (I was worn down and tired, which made me more susceptible.)
Fortunately, I didn’t come down with the flu until I was safely at home. It arrived bringing with it a high fever, chills, and every other associated symptom at Saturday 9:00 p.m.
THIS WEEK
I’ll let photos tell the story…
Normally, I don’t get quite so knocked down by illness. I’ve been sick many times since I started Scrap Girls and it is not uncommon for no one to know I am sick. (I just work in my pajamas.) This time, I’ve been almost no good to anyone. I’ve only answered the emails I’ve absolutely had to answer. I announced in the message board status area that I had the flu – once. It had to be the combination of just-coming-off-of-a-fibro-flare/convention/flu that did it.
Last night, before I went to bed, I started to feel somewhat better. I thought today might be a normal day. But I woke up in the night coughing, gasping, and sputtering and had to take some medicine that has wiped me out again.
The good thing about the flu is that it goes away. Patience is the key. Gary is on his weekend now and so I’ll (finally) get some good food. That ought to help. (I’ve eaten far too many convention-leftover bags of chips and M&Ms this week.
I guess it was just as well that I got sick this week because my big desktop AND my laptop were sick, too. They were in the shop and Gary picked them up on his way to work yesterday. I’ve been using my pink Netbook all week. Maybe their reappearance in the house is a signal that I can get better now.
Well, friends, I’m going to bug off now. I’m starting to feel rather dizzy. Talk to you soon.
